What
is Career Counselıng?
Career counseling is a
guidance process aimed at helping individuals develop awareness about their own
career development, make informed decisions, create plans, and effectively
direct this process in line with their interests, skills, and values. It also
supports individuals in coping better with uncertainties, indecision, changes,
and transitions throughout their career journey.
The main topics addressed
during sessions with career counselors include:
- Setting individual career goals and
creating a plan
- Developing self-awareness regarding
strengths and weaknesses
- Managing uncertainty and/or
indecision related to career goals
- Gaining information about
job/internship search processes and techniques
- Receiving guidance and support on CV
preparation and interviews
- Obtaining information and support
regarding graduate education and academic careers
- Receiving recommendations on skills
that contribute to career development (language, communication, competency
development)
- Managing anxiety and stress related
to career issues
- Receiving advice on how to use
student years efficiently in line with career objectives
- Reviewing the results of the Self-Assessment
