Marketing Program Convenes Meetings for the 3+1 Vocational Education Transition
The Department of Marketing and Advertising at Balıkesir University’s Balıkesir Vocational School is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment process as part of its transition to the 3+1 Vocational Education model. To this end, a series of meetings have been organized with the participation of both the department's academic staff and the student body.
Initially, an academic evaluation meeting was held with the participation of Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can Tokmak, Deputy Department Head Lecturer Nevin Polat, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fulya Güngör. The discussion focused on the general framework of the transition to the 3+1 model and the restructuring of course curricula.
Subsequently, the process was broadened to include student participation. Feedback was gathered from department representative Sıla Yılmaz, first-year representative Arzu Döne, and students Belinay Karabaş, Sude Nur Bayraktar, Rıdvan Efe Tekeli, Fevzi Umut Dursun, İbrahim Talha Aydoğan, and Nihal Topal.
These sessions involved a detailed examination of several critical areas: the scheduling of courses within the new curriculum, planned modifications to existing courses, and the restructuring of lecture hours. Furthermore, proposals for new courses to be integrated into the program were discussed.
Through this participatory approach, the department aims to create a more efficient and contemporary educational plan by incorporating the perspectives of both faculty and students. The Department of Marketing and Advertising at Balıkesir Vocational School remains committed to meticulously advancing its transition toward the 3+1 Vocational Education model, which will further strengthen its practice-oriented educational philosophy.
