Marketing and Graphic Design Students Gather at Alumni Meeting
As part of an event organized by the Design Department of Balıkesir University’s Balıkesir Vocational School, students from the Marketing and Graphic Design programs came together for an alumni meeting.
The event featured Nagihan Şahin Kumsal, a 2016 graduate of the Design Department and founder of Kibrit Agency, as the guest speaker. In her presentation, Kumsal discussed the strategic role of graphic design in the world of marketing and shared her professional experiences with the students.
The seminar covered topics such as the importance of design in marketing communication, the use of color and fonts in printing processes, Point-of-Purchase (POP) display designs, and the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in design workflows. Additionally, information was provided regarding freelance working models, advertising entrepreneurship, and current career dynamics in the industry. The mediator role of a marketer in managing the process between the client and the designer was also among the key highlights of the event.
The event provided a productive atmosphere for students, fostering both industry awareness and career planning. At the conclusion of the event, appreciation was expressed to Nagihan Şahin Kumsal for her contributions, as well as to Design Department faculty members Lecturer Derya Arslan and Lecturer Gülnihal Atak for their efforts in organizing the event.
