From Transportation to International Marketing: Current Dynamics in Logistics
On April 21, 2026, Mr. Burak Kerimoğlu, a 2000 graduate of Balıkesir University’s Balıkesir Vocational School Marketing and Advertising Department, met with our first and second-year students during an online conference.
During the session, Mr. Kerimoğlu shared insights from his student years, shedding light on the initial steps of his career journey. Beyond the knowledge gained throughout his education, he discussed personal growth experiences, such as his membership in the Beşiktaş Congress and his management roles within amateur sports clubs.
Furthermore, Mr. Kerimoğlu provided an overview of the operational processes at Asset Global Logistics Integration, where he currently serves. He offered significant evaluations regarding Turkey’s foreign trade processes and the current state and future of the logistics sector. Highlighting both the advantages and challenges within the transportation industry, the speaker particularly emphasized Istanbul’s and Turkey’s strategic positioning in global logistics and trade.
The conference also explored the impact of recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz—a critical artery for global trade—on international commerce. Additionally, participants examined the importance of service marketing, supply chain management processes, and the effects of internationalization on businesses in depth.
The conference, which drew significant interest from our students, concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Such events aim to continue providing substantial contributions to enhancing our students' sectoral knowledge and awareness.
