Department of Marketing and Advertising Evaluated by the Vocational Assessment and Accreditation Association (MEDEK)
Balıkesir University’s Balıkesir Vocational School, along with its Department of Marketing and Advertising, has completed an important process in line with its quality assurance and educational excellence goals. The accreditation site visit conducted by the Vocational Assessment and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) on October 13–15, 2025, resulted in valuable gains for the institutionalization of the school’s quality culture.
Within this scope, the Computer Technologies Program, Automotive Technology Program, and Marketing Program underwent a comprehensive evaluation process carried out by MEDEK. During the site visit, the programs’ educational activities, physical facilities, laboratory infrastructure, student support systems, stakeholder relations, and quality assurance practices were examined in detail.
Over the three-day visit, the MEDEK evaluation team held various meetings and discussions with the Vocational School administration, academic and administrative staff, and students.
The evaluation process saw active participation from the Vocational School Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Tolun, Vice Directors Asist. Prof. Dr. Fulya Güngör and Lecturer Özgür Yılmaz, department heads, faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives. During the meetings, the programs’ strengths, areas for improvement, and sustainable quality goals were discussed, providing constructive feedback to further enhance the educational processes. The MEDEK team also conducted on-site observations in laboratories, workshops, classrooms, and social areas.
At the end of the visit, the MEDEK evaluation team delivered a program exit report summarizing their work to Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Tolun, which was shared with the school administration and participants. The report detailed the programs’ strengths, observed best practices, and recommended areas for development.
The administration of Balıkesir Vocational School expressed gratitude to all academic and administrative staff, student representatives, and MEDEK evaluation team members who contributed to this process, emphasizing that it will continue to pursue continuous improvement and national standards in education through its quality assurance journey.
