Department of Marketing and Advertising Accreditation Milestone: Accreditation Certificate Received
As Balıkesir University (BAUN) continues its efforts to strengthen quality assurance in vocational education, an official ceremony was organized to present certificates to programs that earned accreditation through evaluations conducted by the Vocational Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK).
During the ceremony, the Marketing and Advertising Program at Balıkesir Vocational School reached a significant quality benchmark by securing a two-year conditional accreditation. This milestone serves as the culmination of 16 months of intensive and meticulous work, confirming that the program's educational activities align with national quality standards.
The event was attended by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, alongside representatives from the participating vocational schools. On behalf of MEDEK, Bursa Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar presented the accreditation certificates to the respective departments.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can Tokmak accepted the certificate on behalf of the Marketing and Advertising Program, accompanied by the Director of Balıkesir Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Tolun.
In his address, Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu emphasized that these accreditation certificates are not merely administrative outcomes but represent a tangible manifestation of the institutionalized culture of quality at Balıkesir University. He extended his gratitude to all academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process.
The success of the Marketing and Advertising Program throughout this accreditation journey was largely driven by the efforts of the department's academic staff, notably Deputy Department Head Lecturer Nevin Polat and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fulya Güngör. The collective support provided by all faculty members teaching in the program, as well as contributions from external academics, ensured that the initiative was approached with a holistic and sustainable perspective on quality. Program objectives, learning outcomes, course content, assessment processes, and continuous improvement mechanisms were all comprehensively addressed within this framework of quality assurance, reflecting the dedication of the entire team.
